Overview

PairIQ ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how PairIQ handles information when you use our mobile application ("App"). We have designed PairIQ with privacy as a foundation — the majority of your personal data never leaves your device. Where we do collect data, it is anonymous, never linked to you as an individual, and used solely to improve the app.

1. Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

PairIQ stores the following information exclusively on your device using local device storage (AsyncStorage). This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:

  • Meal history — foods you have analyzed, including meal scores and timestamps

  • Saved meals — meals you have manually saved for future reference

  • Favorite foods — foods you have marked as favorites

  • Recent searches — foods you have recently searched for

  • Health preferences — your selected diet type and health goal

  • Supplement information — supplements you have indicated you take

  • App preferences — display settings such as dark mode

Anonymous Analytics Data

PairIQ collects anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the user experience. This data is collected through PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics platform. The following types of anonymous interaction data may be collected:

  • App feature interactions — such as which tabs are visited, foods searched, meals analyzed, and features used

  • Food search terms — the names of foods searched within the app

  • Meal composition data — number of foods in a meal and meal grade received

  • Subscription events — whether a subscription was initiated or viewed

  • Onboarding completion — whether and how onboarding was completed

This analytics data is:

  • Completely anonymous — not linked to your name, email, device ID, or any personally identifiable information

  • Not used for advertising or marketing purposes

  • Not sold or shared with third parties beyond PostHog's infrastructure

  • Not used for cross-app tracking

In-App Purchase Data

When you purchase a PairIQ Premium subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. PairIQ uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status. Neither PairIQ nor RevenueCat has access to your payment card information. RevenueCat may process a pseudonymous device-level identifier to verify subscription status. 2. Information We Do Not Collect

PairIQ does not collect, transmit, store, or share:

  • Your name, email address, or any account information

  • Your location data

  • Device advertising identifiers

  • Biometric data

  • Personal health records

  • Any information through third-party advertising networks

3. Food and Nutrition Database

PairIQ accesses a nutritional food database hosted on Supabase to power the app's pairing intelligence. When you open the app, it downloads this food data to your device. This database contains only general nutritional information about foods — it contains no personal user data. The food database is read-only and does not receive any data from your device. 4. How We Use Information

We use locally stored data solely to:

  • Display your meal history and saved meals within the app

  • Personalize food suggestions based on your selected diet and health goal

  • Calculate supplement timing recommendations

  • Track your absorption score trends in the History tab

We use anonymous analytics data solely to:

  • Understand which features are most useful

  • Identify and fix bugs or usability issues

  • Improve the overall app experience

We do not use any data for advertising, marketing, or profiling.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third party.

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — hosts the nutritional food database. Receives no personal user data. supabase.com/privacy

  • PostHog — anonymous analytics platform. Receives only the anonymous usage data described in Section 1. posthog.com/privacy

  • RevenueCat — subscription management. Processes pseudonymous subscription status data. revenuecat.com/privacy

  • Apple App Store — processes all subscription payments. Apple's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.

We may disclose information only if required by law or valid legal process. Since we do not collect personally identifiable data on our servers, we have no user data to disclose in most circumstances.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data is retained on your device until you delete it. PairIQ provides in-app tools:

  • Clear meal history — removes all logged meals

  • Reset all data — permanently deletes all app data including meal history, saved meals, favorites, and preferences

Access these under Profile → Data & Privacy. Uninstalling the app also deletes all locally stored data.

Anonymous analytics data is retained by PostHog for up to 12 months. To request deletion of any analytics data associated with your device, contact us at info@pairiqapp.com.

7. Children's Privacy

PairIQ is not directed at children under the age of 13 in the United States or under the age of 16 in the European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at info@pairiqapp.com.

8. Health and Medical Disclaimer

PairIQ provides nutritional pairing information based on peer-reviewed nutritional science for general informational and educational purposes only.

  • PairIQ is not a medical device

  • PairIQ does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition

  • Supplement timing suggestions are general guidance only and are not personalized medical recommendations

  • Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet or supplement regimen, particularly if you have a medical condition

9. Security

Personal data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's built-in security including encryption and passcode protection. Anonymous analytics data transmitted to PostHog is encrypted in transit using TLS. We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a secure passcode.

10. Your Privacy Rights

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected about you

  • Request deletion of your personal information

  • Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)

  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Since PairIQ stores personal data locally on your device and our analytics data is anonymous and not linked to you, you have direct control over your data at all times through the in-app deletion tools in Section 6.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing anonymous analytics data is our legitimate interest in improving the app (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is anonymous and not linked to any identified or identifiable natural person and therefore may fall outside the scope of GDPR personal data requirements. To the extent any such data constitutes personal data under applicable law, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing. 11. International Data Transfers

Anonymous analytics data processed by PostHog may be transferred to and stored in the United States. PostHog complies with applicable data protection laws for international transfers. For more information, see posthog.com/privacy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
